The Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences
The Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter abbreviated as RCEES), formerly the Institute of Environmental Chemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences founded in 1975, is the first comprehensive research institution engaged in research on eco-environmental science and technology in China. It later merged with the Research Center of Ecology to form the RCEES.
RCEES focuses on the strategic theme of "national eco-environmental security and sustainable development." By integrating strengths in environmental science, environmental engineering and ecology, and closely aligning with major national needs and international research frontiers, RCEES continuously achieves breakthroughs in key theories and technologies. RCEES promotes harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature. and strives to build itself into a base for eco-environmental scientific research and technological innovation. RCEES is a centre for talent cultivation and a comprehensive research institution with international influence.
The BRI International Green Development Coalition
The BRI International Green Development Coalition (hereinafter abbreviated as BRIGC) is jointly initiated by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China and international partners. The main goal of BRIGC is to promote international consensus understanding, cooperation and concerted actions to achieve green development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), to integrate sustainable development into the BRI through joint efforts, and to facilitate BRI participating countries to implement strong integration of environment and development elements of the Sustainable Development Goals.
